We think that we all celebrate these dates as some festival/rituals.

 

But our ancestors has science behind this. Let us look at it.

 

We have studied in school as Sun rises in East. But have we ever checked in compass?? Never!!!

 

English people has designed the education system in such a way that they have destroyed our science knowledge and made us fools by providing just book knowledge.

 

Yes! Sun rises in East side for a particular day only, other days it moves day by day towards North(Vadakku) and at some extreme point it again comes back to East.

 

It correctly travels from East to NorthEast and SouthEast and it returns to East exactly in 1 year.

 

Okay! What is the relation between this and Tamil calendar?

 

Let’s understand! When sun correctly starts at East it is Chitthirai 1st(New Year – April 14/15) In science it is called Equinox.

 

Another extreme point is South East that is Aadi 1(Solstice) – Summer Aadi masam

 

Again sun comes in East that is Iypasi 1(Equinox) - Deepavali

 

Going to extreme North East is Thy 1(Solistice) – Pongal

 

Let’s educate our next generation people with not just as festivals. Let’s educate them through science.
